PG2 Paraglider Pilot Course |
|
This course gives you the skills and knowledge required
to gain the New Zealand Hang Gliding and Paragliding
Association PG2 rating.
The PG2 rating entitles you to fly unsupervised at
any PG1 or PG2 rated flying site in New Zealand (subject
to local club rules!) and at PG3 rated sites under the
supervision of a PG3 rated pilot. You can also apply
for the internationaly recognised International
Pilot Proficiency Information card.

This course includes:
- 40-50 flights (10-12 days practical paragliding instruction).
- NZHGPA PG 1 certificate.
- 3 theory lessons covering piloting skills/materials, aerodynamics and meteorology.
- Videos on flight safety and cross country flying.
- NZHGPA PG2 theory examinations and CAA VFR examination.
- Flight log book.
After completing this course you will be able to:
- Fly safely with other airborne aircraft.
- Gain height by ridge soaring or thermal flying.
- Demonstrate side slope and top landings.
- Demonstrate 360 degree turns.
- Demonstrate rear riser control in flight and landing.
- Demonstrate tight banked turns and flat turns.
- Demonstrate speed control using speed bar.
- Demonstrate competant reverse launches.
- Demonstrate accelerated height loss of up to 1000
ft/min.
- Demonstrate knowledge of reserve deployment technique.

Price: NZ$2100. (Introductory paraglider pilot and intermediate courses are included
in this price. Subtract $400 if you purchase gear from our used paraglider list or our new paraglider list.)
